New for Summer 2012!

NEW FOR SUMMER 2012

Themed Dinners

Each night our residential campers will enjoy different theme dinners with music, games, costumes and more! Our themes might be Beach/Hawaiian, Blast from the Past, Cowboys and Pirates and more. Campers are encouraged to bring clothing and costumes that will go along with each theme. Our returning summer staff came up with this idea at their pre-camp meeting and are really excited about implementing the new summer camp dinner themes and making this the best summer yet!

Mother-Daughter and Father-Son Weekends

Every year parents drop their children off at camp and we hear them exclaim, "I wish I could come to camp too!" Well, now you can! This year we are offering Father-Son weekend (July 20-22) and Mother-Daughter weekend (July 27-29). This offers Parents and Children a chance to experience camp together. We will spend the weekend at camp participating in many of the traditional camp activities like the challenge course, zipline, swimming, canoeing, and archery.
Families have the option of having a cabin, or tent camping. Mother-Daughter and Father-son weekends are open to all ages. It will be a great weekend of outdoor fun and adventure. Our hope is that time spent together will indeed make these relationships stronger. Read more about Mother-Daughter and Father-Son Weekends.

Gaga Ball

You are probably asking yourself "What is Gaga Ball?". Gaga Ball is a lot like Dodge Ball. You can play as a group of people working as a team against another team, one-on-one matches, or a large group of people playing against each other. Gaga is played in a large Hexagon called a Gaga Court. The Gaga Court at Chestnut Ridge was built by our very own Counselor Joseph, as an Eagle Scout Project.

Cooking Camp

For Waterdogs and Duskies: Roll up your sleeves, feel the dough between your fingers and get ready to slice and dice. This hands-on camp focuses on cooking from scratch using fresh, local, seasonal, and organic ingredients. Whether your child is interested in becoming a head chef or simply the maker of a delicious pesto sauce, Cooking Camp is a wonderful opportunity to expose your camper to new foods while learning a variety of cooking skills in a fun atmosphere.
