Horse Slumber Party

Is there a girl in your life who loves horses? A girl who you wish, just for a little while, had someone else to gab about horses with? Well then this retreat is for her! Jana will host the “horse slumber party” for girls in grades 4-8. Girls arrive at 4 pm to settle in to the cabin and get ready for the first horseback ride of the party. Friday night we will have dinner, s’mores over a campfire, and plenty of girl time! Saturday is all horse, all the time...well except for eating. We will play games on horseback, go for long rides, do some grooming and just enjoy being outdoors with horses. Pick up is at 4 pm on Saturday.

*please note: in March, we will be staying in a heated/air-conditioned cabin; in May, we will be staying at Rustic Site 6*

Cost: $95/person

Party attendees should already have a basic knowledge of horses and riding though it is not a requirement to have taken lessons at Chestnut Ridge. All participants need to bring long pants and boots for riding.

What to bring?

* sleeping bag or twin sheets and blanket 

* pillow

* clothes, including jeans or long pants

* jacket or sweatshirt

* toiletries/personal items

* boots or hard soled shoes with a heel

* flashlight
